OpenCode GUI: Run OpenCode and Its Free Models in Whilo

Whilo runs OpenCode as one agent of a team, on macOS, Windows or Linux, with its free models and no account. You get shared channels with agents on other providers, and an app on your phone.

How to set it up

  1. Download Whilo

For macOS 13 or later on Apple silicon or Intel, Windows 10 or later on x64, or x64 or arm64 Linux.

  2. Connect OpenCode

Choose OpenCode, and Whilo downloads and pins its own copy of OpenCode, or uses the one you installed. The free models need no sign-in. For more models, add an OpenCode Go key.

  3. Give your agent a job

Create an agent on OpenCode, choose its model, and give it a task. Whilo makes a workspace folder for it. When the work grows, add agents on other providers to the same channel.

What Whilo adds

  • Free to start

OpenCode's free models need no account and no key, so a new agent works as soon as OpenCode is downloaded.

  • Your own models

Whilo runs OpenCode on any OpenAI-compatible server too, such as Ollama or LM Studio on your computer.

  • A team, not one chat

Each agent has its own job and workspace. A lead agent gives parts of a task to other agents in a shared channel, and you step in when a decision needs you.

  • Your agents on your phone

The Whilo apps for iPhone and Android connect to the computer that runs your agents, over an encrypted connection, with no VPN. Remote access needs an Whilo account.

  • Change the provider, keep the work

Move an agent to a different provider and it keeps its role, workspace and conversation. Agents on different providers work in the same channel. When a plan reaches its limit, an agent can move to a backup model.

  • Your data on your computer

Workspaces, chats and files stay on the computer that runs Whilo. The provider you choose gets the requests you send.

  • Use your AI plans

Whilo is free for noncommercial use. Your agents use the plans you already pay for.

Questions

Is there a GUI for OpenCode?

Yes. OpenCode has a desktop app in beta and a web interface that runs on your computer. Whilo is a different desktop app: it runs OpenCode as one agent of a team, with agents on other providers and an app on your phone.

Is OpenCode in Whilo free?

Yes, with OpenCode's free models: they need no account. OpenCode Go, at $10 a month, and Go Plus, at $40, give reliable use of open coding models. Both are optional.

Does OpenCode need WSL on Windows?

OpenCode recommends WSL for its own terminal app on Windows. Whilo downloads the native Windows x64 build of OpenCode and runs it for you, with no WSL.

Can OpenCode run a model on my computer?

Yes. In Whilo, OpenCode runs any OpenAI-compatible server as a custom provider, such as Ollama or LM Studio on your computer.
